Dr. Stern-Cavalcante is a clinical psychologist registered in the province of Ontario. She received her Ph.D. degree from University of Waterloo in 2005. Dr. Stern-Cavalcante is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario and the Ontario Psychological Association. She has been working in the field since 1997 starting with her internship at Grand River Hospital with the Child and Family Services and then, at the University of Waterloo Counselling Center. Dr. Wilma Stern-Cavalcante has held positions at the Halton Public School Board, Grand Valley Institution for Women, and several private practices where she worked with a variety of psychologists from different backgrounds and orientation. She has also facilitated numerous groups and workshops throughout the years on a variety of topics such as social anxiety, stress management, depression, self-esteem, loss/bereavement, and procrastination.
